Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. KPG99 INC is seeking a Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Systems Administrator to join its enterprise infrastructure team. This role involves supporting a large-scale Windows and VDI environment, managing projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and serving as a technical escalation resource.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise VDI environments using Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon)
- Support and manage virtual desktops and published applications
- Lead VDI infrastructure projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues
- Develop, modify, and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements and implement solutions
- Support VDI infrastructure running on virtualized hypervisor platforms
- Create and manage Active Directory objects, Organizational Units (OUs), and Group Policies (GPOs)
- Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members when needed
- Participate in future cloud-focused initiatives involving Azure and AWS technologies
Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on VDI administration experience
- Strong experience with Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon); Citrix experience will also be considered
- 5+ years of senior-level Windows infrastructure administration experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments in enterprise-scale organizations
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Experience working independently and taking ownership of technical outcomes
- Background in systems administration or infrastructure engineering (desktop support-only experience is not sufficient)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
- Exposure to infrastructure automation and DevOps-related tools such as SCCM, Ansible, or similar technologies
- Healthcare industry experience
- Experience supporting large enterprise environments
