The Tax Analyst role involves supporting CSI's tax compliance and reporting efforts, ensuring accurate filings, and contributing to research and compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Preparing corporate income tax workpapers, extension calculations, and quarterly income tax estimates
- Assisting with year-end tax compliance activities and supporting various federal, state, and local tax filings
- Preparing and filing sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, net profit tax returns, and other required tax filings
- Researching federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Assisting with tax audits and responding to requests from governmental agencies
- Reconciling tax-related accrual and balance sheet accounts
- Identifying opportunities related to tax credits, exemptions, and process improvements
- Communicating effectively with internal departments and external agencies regarding tax matters
- Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Workday, and Avalara to gather information, prepare filings, and support tax reporting activities
Skills
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant tax experience; two or more years preferred
- Experience preparing U.S. corporate income tax workpapers and returns
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and reconcile financial data
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong research skills and the ability to interpret tax regulations and reporting requirements
- A team-oriented mindset, while also being comfortable working independently
- Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Two or more years of relevant tax experience
- CPA certification is a plus but not required
