Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. New Direction Capital is a company that provides virtual CFO services to its clients, and they are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the CFO and be responsible for tasks such as month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily cash activities and bank statements
- Create and modify financial reports on the accounting software
- Perform general accounting functions as required
- Prepare general ledger entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare and analyze financial data. Update and maintain general ledger chart of accounts
- Assist/prepare various accounting and financial spreadsheets
- Assist with AR and AP
- Coordinate month end and year-end closing process
- Coordinate activity on capital leases/loans
- Recommend more accurate and efficient procedures for all accounting functions
- Ensure that confidentiality regarding company, clients, or vendors is not disclosed to anyone except as authorized
Skills
- 2 to 4 years of bookkeeping experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks online skills required
- Experience with P&L analysis and understanding of accounting basics
- Ability to maintain, create, and understand complex spreadsheets and database applications
- Ability to apply accounting principles, practices, and techniques
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Possess highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic, multitasking environment
- Capacity to work with limited supervision, independently and as a team member
- Self-motivation and initiative to improve processes, resolve uncertainties and drive results
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication with all levels of organization
- Ability to convey financial information, insights and different perspectives
- Outstanding work ethic and ability to identify opportunities, prioritize and achieve

- Exceptional organizational skills and critical attention to detail and deadlines
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- Experience with other accounting packages is a plus
