The SEO/GEO Strategist will execute and refine SEO strategies, improve client visibility, and collaborate with various teams to enhance organic growth and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute and refine SEO strategies across a portfolio of client accounts, spanning technical, local, on-page, and content optimization initiatives
- Implement and improve GEO strategies that increase client visibility across AI-generated search experiences
- Conduct technical site audits and competitor analyses, translating findings into clear, prioritized recommendations
- Optimize user journeys by improving site structure, content organization, and page experiences that support both search visibility and conversions
- Work confidently in WordPress to implement content, structural, and GEO/SEO improvements without hand-holding
- Use RankMath, SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other tools to monitor performance, uncover opportunities, and communicate insights
- Collaborate closely with the GEO Lead, designers, developers, and content team to deliver high-quality client strategies and web projects
- Execute off-site SEO and GEO initiatives, including digital PR, third-party profiles, entity optimization, local listings, and other authority-building strategies that improve client visibility
- Stay ahead of search algorithm updates, AI search developments, and emerging best practices, bringing new ideas and recommendations back to the team
Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience in an agency or in-house environment
- Demonstrated ability to actually move rankings. Be ready to show us something you have ranked
- Solid working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush
- Comfortable in WordPress. You should be able to go into a live site and make changes without breaking a sweat
- Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, ideation, and content workflows while exercising independent judgment. You know when to use AI, when not to, and how to verify its output
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This is the thing we will test for in the interview
- Self-directed. You manage your own work, ask good questions, and do not wait to be told what to do next
- Strong writing and editing skills. You don't have to be a professional copywriter, but you should be comfortable improving content for users and search rather than simply inserting keywords
- Adaptable. You are comfortable working across SEO, GEO, content strategy, third-party platforms, and user experience. You are not siloed into a single discipline
- U.S.-based and eligible to work in the United States
- Experience with GEO, AI Overviews, LLM visibility, or structured data for AI search
- Familiarity with tools like Rank Math Pro
- Experience with digital PR, link building, or off-site strategy
- Basic HTML/CSS comfort
- A good eye for UX and how page design affects engagement
- You have built and ranked your own website
