Apex Infrastructure Consultants is seeking a Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer to support the planning, technical development, and design review of large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure for mission-critical data center developments. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate utility capacity and optimize infrastructure strategies for high-profile projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the technical development and review of site due diligence studies and campus utility master plans
- Develop water demand projections and long-term utility planning estimates
- Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses and evaluate optimal utility infrastructure strategies
- Identify cost-effective and schedule-efficient solutions for water and wastewater service delivery
- Review water and wastewater utility agreements and provide technical recommendations
- Review engineering calculations, hydraulic models, and utility planning documentation
- Assist in developing infrastructure availability models and supporting technical documentation
- Analyze utility usage data and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements
- Review engineering design packages for onsite and offsite water and wastewater infrastructure
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout planning and design activities
- Provide technical guidance during project development while ensuring engineering quality and consistency
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 4 years focused on planning, design, or construction of utility infrastructure projects
- Experience with water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, and utility infrastructure systems
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and cloud-based collaboration platforms
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical facilities
- Experience planning utility capacity for large campuses or infrastructure developments
- Experience reviewing or designing pump stations, water transmission pipelines, wastewater collection systems, storage facilities, or related utility infrastructure
- Experience with hydraulic modeling and utility system analysis
- Knowledge of infrastructure availability modeling or reliability analysis
- Experience evaluating utility infrastructure both within and outside the United States
- Experience supporting large-scale data center developments is highly preferred
