Northwestern Mutual is seeking a driven Financial Advisor with a strong hunting and production background to join their growing remote advisory team focused on serving tech clients. The role involves building relationships, generating new business, and expanding existing client households, with a focus on complex stock situations.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business through a mix of firm-provided leads and self-generated prospecting activity
- Conduct approximately 20 meetings per week, with about half originating from firm-provided opportunities and half from personal business development
- Close and expand assets across a mix of account types, with compensation tied to production and asset type
- Advise tech professionals and clients with concentrated stock or other complex planning needs
- Expand existing client relationships while building a strong pipeline of new clients
- Maintain consistent activity, follow-up, and pipeline management in a remote environment
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial plans and client strategies
- Prepare for and lead client meetings, including gathering information, organizing agendas, and documenting follow-up actions
- Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate planning and investment strategies
- Review and update financial plans, portfolio allocations, and ongoing client reviews
- Assist with trading, rebalancing, and implementation of client recommendations
- Maintain accurate client records and CRM documentation
- Coordinate with internal team members and outside professionals as needed to support client outcomes
Skills
- 5+ years of relevant RIA experience
- Demonstrated production history and comfort with a high-volume, sales-oriented advisory role
- Strong hunter mindset with the ability to generate opportunities and convert meetings into revenue
- Experience working with complex client situations, including stock-based compensation or similar planning needs
- CFP and Series 7 preferred
