They are seeking a Senior Capture & Growth Manager to identify and capture strategic Department of Defense opportunities, requiring hands-on engagement with customers and collaboration with technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support full lifecycle capture activities, with immediate responsibility for select opportunities from identification through award
- Contribute to and help drive win strategy development and execution for federal pursuits (DoD, DLA, federal civilian)
- Lead and support solutioning efforts, translating technical capabilities into compelling, mission-focused approaches
- Engage directly with government stakeholders to support mission understanding and early opportunity shaping
- Build and help mature pipeline, supporting prioritization of high-value, high-probability opportunities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical, pricing, contracts, proposal) to develop compliant, competitive bids
- Support competitive analysis, black hats, and win theme development
- Contribute directly to proposal writing, reviewing, and refining technical and management volumes
- Execute capture activities with discipline, contributing to artifacts, gates, and overall process improvement
Skills
- 8–15 years of progressive federal business development, capture management, and growth experience
- Demonstrated success leading competitive DoD captures from qualification through contract award
- Experience managing capture budgets (B&P), pursuit investments, and opportunity strategy
- Familiarity with federal acquisition and contract vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, MACs, BPAs, OTAs)
- Established relationships within the Department of Defense, adjacent federal agencies, and industry partners with the ability to identify, influence, and shape new business opportunities
- Experience developing win strategies, competitive positioning, call plans, customer engagement plans, and capture artifacts
- Thrives in a fast-paced small-business environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution while contributing wherever needed to help the team win
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage engineers, solution architects, and customers in meaningful technical discussions
- Working knowledge of enterprise IT, cybersecurity, cloud, AI, and emerging technologies as they relate to federal opportunities and mission needs, particularly Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, hybrid architectures)
- Exposure to AI-enabled initiatives, digital transformation efforts, data modernization, or advanced analytics programs
- Networked and distributed systems within federal environments
- AI/ML awareness in federal environments, including understanding how AI is influencing mission delivery, acquisition, and competitive positioning
- Familiarity with automation, predictive analytics, and data-driven operations
- Experience leading or playing a significant role in captures in the ~$5M–$30M range
- Demonstrated sound business judgment in evaluating opportunities, allocating capture resources, and making bid/no-bid recommendations
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and networking skills with the ability to establish credibility with government customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with Shipley or similar capture methodologies
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret clearance
