The Sales Manager will lead and develop a team of sales representatives to drive performance and revenue growth, using data-driven insights to identify opportunities and achieve sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals
- Hire, develop, train and maintain top sales talent where and when needed
- Oversee and manage activity and goal attainment for a team of up to 12 sales representatives throughout the US
- Provide coaching and feedback to their team, enabling and empowering the SBAs/DBAs to better lead & support their teams, drive positive sales results, and prepare them for future roles of increasing responsibility
- Contribute to the National Sales Plan that aligns to organizational goals, leveraging analytics, customer & field insights, DVM behavior, and industry intelligence
- Routinely participate in sales field rides, target planning, territory alignment, national and regional congresses, KOL engagement and internal development discussions
- Demonstrate initiative and strategic insight to ensure that regional market trends, challenges and opportunities, and the VRS response to such are effectively communicated across the organization
- Continuously support customer relationships and demonstrate a firm leadership presence to support key customer inquiries and needs
- Support and uphold a culture of accountability across the teams and within each stakeholder interaction
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts
- All other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with different types of accounts, both over the phone and in person
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with inside sales counterparts as well as meet regularly with the VP
- Experience in outside sales, including meeting with customers in-person, conducting sales presentations, and representing the company at industry events
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, including managing different types of accounts simultaneously, and effectively plan and execute in-person sales visits
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar CRM systems
