Direct Counsel represents an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Real Estate Associate with broad transactional experience to join its sophisticated real estate practice. This role offers exposure to high-value transactions across a range of asset classes and deal structures.
Responsibilities
- Structure, negotiate, and draft purchase and sale agreements, mortgage loan documents, and core transaction materials
- Manage acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and closing processes
- Oversee closing checklists and transaction documentation
- Draft and negotiate commercial leases, joint ventures, construction agreements, CC&Rs, REAs, declarations, and easement agreements (preferred)
Skills
- 3–6 years of broad real estate transactional experience
- Strong experience with mortgage debt financing
- Purchase/sale transactions experience
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with strong independent problem-solving ability
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Borrower-side preferred experience with mortgage debt financing
- Leasing and joint venture experience a plus
- Draft and negotiate commercial leases, joint ventures, construction agreements, CC&Rs, REAs, declarations, and easement agreements
