Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Rand Worldwide is a leading provider of ANSYS CAE solutions and engineering simulation consulting services. They are looking for an Ansys FEA and Structures Support Engineer to assist their customer user base by troubleshooting technical issues related to Ansys software and delivering hands-on support.
Responsibilities
- Staying current on Ansys software packages, recommended solution workflows and finite element simulation theory
- Debug and resolve customer issues relating to Ansys application file handling, problem setup, and post processing
- Case management and tracking case progression inside the Rand Simulation CRM system
- Maintaining professional and timely communication both internally and externally in a fast-paced environment
- Documenting common issues and potential software defects and constructing repository of solutions
- When appropriate, delegating support load to other engineers on the Rand Simulation Team
- Researching root cause of support-related issues through the resources provided
- Testing proposed solutions using Ansys software for issues related to workflow
- Acting as the liaison between Ansys support and the customer when Ansys engagement is required
- Tracking and reporting on monthly, quarterly, and yearly support metrics
Skills
- M.S./B.S./B.A. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar discipline
- 5 years + of Engineering simulation experience utilizing Ansys software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate and conduct web meetings and correspondence with customers
- A logical problem-solving approach and ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to a customer
- A self-starter and motivator with an engaging personality and strong energy
- Ability to work diligently alone when needed, but knows when to seek help
- Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
- Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (Inventor and/or SolidWorks)
- Basic scripting and PowerShell experience
