ZentLaw is an established, premier Alternative Legal Services Provider delivering solutions for in-house legal teams and corporate organizations. They are seeking a sharp, self-directed Director of Business Development to build a pipeline, take ownership of opportunities, and drive revenue growth in the legal market.
Responsibilities
- Build and work a pipeline of in-house legal buyers, GCs, CLOs, legal ops leaders, etc
- Leverage your existing network and relationships to generate new business
- Execute targeted outreach via LinkedIn and Sales Navigator to identify and engage prospects
- Conduct qualification and discovery calls, advancing opportunities toward close
- Reactivate other client relationships and expand existing accounts into new service lines
- Support proposal development and solution design
- Maintain clean CRM notes and pipeline tracking with disciplined follow through
- Represent the company professionally at all times
- Provide ongoing feedback on market needs, client pain points and competitive dynamics
- Help shape go-to-market messaging based on real buyer conversations
- Identify emerging opportunities across our service lines
Skills
- 8 to 15 years of experience in business development, sales or client relationship management in the legal industry
- Deep knowledge of the in-house legal market plus you understand how GCs, CLOs and legal ops leaders think, what their priorities are and how to earn their trust
- Existing network of in-house legal buyers, legal ops leaders and ecosystem contacts
- Active LinkedIn presence with genuine comfort doing professional outreach — this is a core function of the role
- Hands on Sales Navigator and CRM experience
- Consultative approach to selling, meaning: you listen first and lead with solutions
- Exceptional follow through: you own your pipeline end-to-end
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who executes independently and with discipline
- High energy, resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity
- Professionally resilient with a positive collaborative spirit
- Genuine enthusiasm for the evolution of enterprise legal services
- Minimum Tech Skills Required: LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, CRM tools, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom
- Experience at an ALSP, legaltech company or enterprise legal services provider strongly preferred
