Silicon assists advanced manufacturers and defense contractors to secure rare earths, metals, and specialty materials critical to national security. They are hiring a Client Partner to grow senior relationships with large U.S. defense contractors and convert their materials requirements into sales, while managing the full lifecycle of client engagements.
Responsibilities
- Managing Silicon’s relationships with large U.S. defense contractors and advanced manufacturing clients
- Building trusted client relationships
- Understanding rare earths, metals, and specialty materials requirements
- Working closely with Silicon’s sourcing and logistics teams to structure and execute solutions and take orders
- Owning the full lifecycle from initial client engagement through sourcing, commercial execution, delivery, and client sign-off
- Proactively managing issues to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business
Skills
- Background in rare earths business development, supply chain consulting or related fields with large defense contractors
- Strong ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, and program teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving capability with commercial judgment and accountability for outcomes
- Comfort working with technical specifications, supply chain constraints, and ambiguous requirements
- Ability to manage client engagements and execution end-to-end, not just sales activity
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical and commercial requirements into actionable solutions
- Degree or background in chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience in defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or regulated industries
- Experience transitioning from consulting into industry or client-facing roles
