Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ascensus is the nation’s largest third-party administrator of retirement plans, partnering with advisors in all 50 states. The Business Development Consultant is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with financial professionals, driving sales efforts, and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall sales experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with advisors, consultants, plan sponsors, and institutional partners
- Partner with the RVP to execute territory strategy and drive new and existing business growth
- Proactively uncover new business opportunities, actively sell FuturePlan solutions, and advance prospects through the pipeline
- Manage day-to-day sales activity, including pipeline tracking, CRM updates, follow-up, and new business submission
- Support proposal development, documentation, and full sales lifecycle execution
- Provide expert guidance on plan design and retirement solutions
- Deliver customized, client-specific recommendations leveraging FuturePlan’s capabilities
- Conduct presentations and support industry events to drive engagement and brand presence
- Educate partners to enhance their ability to win and retain business
- Monitor territory performance and align activity to sales goals
- Maintain industry and product knowledge through ongoing learning
- Partner with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience
- Uphold data security standards and demonstrate company values in all interactions
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients
Skills
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years' experience in the retirement industry
- 6+ years' experience in the financial services industry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Customer service focused
- Comprehensive knowledge of retirement plans with knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Able to effectively render sound advice and judgment within company guidelines and ERISA rules
- Proficiency in MSOffice software applications, specifically Excel
- Contribute to sales organization by utilizing strong work ethic and team communication
- Strong solutions-oriented skills
- Must possess excellent interviewing and demonstration skills
