They are seeking a driven and results-oriented Account Executive to accelerate growth by winning new business and expanding existing client relationships. The role involves building strong partnerships, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored transportation solutions to clients.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, identify, and secure new business opportunities across target markets
- Expand and retain existing customer accounts to increase revenue and margin contribution
- Develop strategic sales plans to grow market share and achieve revenue targets
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, prospects, and industry contacts
- Conduct impactful sales presentations and solution-based consultations
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customer supply chain needs and delivering tailored solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to design cost-effective, operationally sound transportation solutions
- Assess customer project requirements, including specialized, project-based, and heavy haul freight
- Partner with operations and carrier networks to ensure successful execution
- Leverage industry relationships to source both customer opportunities and carrier partnerships
- Represent the company in client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities
- Utilize travel and customer engagement activities to grow business within budget guidelines
- Maintain accurate sales activity tracking, reporting, and pipeline management
- Ensure timely follow-up, clear communication, and strong customer experience
- Partner with finance and operations to support billing accuracy, collections, and accessorial management
- Perform any tasks necessary to support customer requirements and achieve company objectives
- Adapt to evolving business needs and contribute to team success beyond core responsibilities
Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of transportation or logistics sales experience
- Proven ability to generate and close new business
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sales tools/technology
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Transportation, or related field
- Experience with intermodal, brokerage, project freight, or heavy haul
- Established industry network and customer relationships
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
