Job Summary
As a Network Data Center Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team in an information technology discipline such as application support, computing services, storage systems, desktop services, email messaging, networking, Sharepoint administration, or telecommunications. You will provide leadership through coaching, planning, and managing work activities by assessing critical path and priorities. Reporting to an IT Manager, you will take on day-to-day accountability of the technology service, leveraging people, price, process, partners, and the platform to deliver services at or below market price.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high-performance and career growth.
- Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department, developing and implementing policies and programs as necessary.
- Ensure reliability and resiliency of IT services, putting measures/metrics/alerts in place to prevent downtime and quickly restore services in case of interruptions.
- Perform project management activities, including impact analysis, management of cost, schedules, and risk, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity.
- Develop and implement policies and programs to improve IT services, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage budgetary responsibilities and make financial decisions to ensure effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, partners, and vendors to ensure seamless delivery of IT services.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required; 10 years of relevant experience can substitute for a degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with multiple computer operating systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in End User Computing, Engineering, IT Infrastructure, Networking, Telecommunications, or Operations.
- 3-5 years of experience supervising people, managing pricing, processes, or partners.
- Proficiency in productivity tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Management or Computer Science.
- Experience with Cisco Equipment, DNS, Cloud Services, WAN, Internet, Stealth Watch.
- 3-5 years of experience negotiating contracts and/or managing conflict.
- Working knowledge of information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) best practices related to configuration, change, incident, problem, and service level management.
- Microsoft or Cisco Certification.
