This role drives revenue growth and operational excellence across claims, client delivery, and technology, partnering with executive leadership, carriers, and clients to deliver scalable solutions aligned with Sedgwick’s enterprise strategy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership & Business Growth Defines and executes the multi-year strategy for Sedgwick’s Captive & Carrier Solutions business, aligned to enterprise priorities and market opportunities. Drives profitable growth through new client and carrier partnerships, expansion of existing relationships, and development of new products and capabilities. Serves as the executive sponsor and “voice of the business” with clients, carrier partners, prospects, and industry stakeholders. Monitors market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics across captive insurance and carrier program environments to inform strategy and innovation. Partners with sales and client leadership teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and pipeline growth initiatives across captive and carrier segments. Operational Excellence & Service Delivery Oversees end-to-end operations of the captive and carrier solutions business, including claims administration, underwriting support, delegated authority programs, and program management. Ensures adjusters and operational teams deliver responsive, high-quality service aligned to client expectations, carrier requirements, and contractual service levels. Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for service quality, turnaround time, financial outcomes, and client and carrier satisfaction. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and consistency across captive and carrier operations. Ensures alignment of service delivery with regulatory requirements, client and carrier contracts, and Sedgwick standards. Financial & Business Management Owns P&L responsibility for the Captive & Carrier Solutions business, including revenue growth, expense management, and profitability. Develops and manages budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics across captive and carrier portfolios. Ensures strong financial controls, reporting accuracy, and alignment with enterprise financial objectives. Evaluates and prioritizes investments in technology, talent, and operational capabilities to drive long-term value creation. Client, Carrier & Relationship Management Builds and maintain executive-level relationships with clients and carrier partners, serving as a trusted advisor on program strategy and performance. Ensures captive and carrier programs are optimized to meet risk management objectives, cost efficiency, compliance requirements, and long-term sustainability. Partners with clients and carriers to identify opportunities for program expansion, innovation, and cross-selling of Sedgwick services. Leads governance processes, including executive reviews, performance reporting, and issue resolution for both client and carrier stakeholders. Technology & Innovation Partners with technology and product teams to ensure platforms support both captive and carrier program requirements and operational efficiency. Drives adoption of data, analytics, and digital tools to enhance claims insights, reporting, and decision-making across solutions. Ensures technology investments align with client and carrier expectations and Sedgwick’s enterprise architecture and standards. Leadership & Talent Development Provides executive leadership, direction, and coaching to senior leaders and teams within the Captive & Carrier Solutions organization. Builds and develops high-performing teams across operations, client services, carrier engagement, and business development. Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence. Leads organizational design, succession planning, and capability development to support business growth. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. Travels as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Leads and develops senior leaders and market-facing teams Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance. Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations. Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred. Insurance or risk management designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred. Experience 15+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, captives, or carrier operations. 10+ years of leadership experience managing senior leaders and complex operations. Demonstrated success in driving business growth and managing P&L responsibility. Experience supporting captive programs, carrier relationships, delegated authority, or third-party administration strongly preferred. Skills & Knowledge Deep understanding of captive insurance structures, carrier operating models, regulatory environments, and risk financing strategies. Strong business acumen with the ability to balance growth, profitability, and operational performance. Proven ability to lead large, complex, and geographically dispersed teams. Executive presence with the ability to influence clients, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders. Strong understanding of technology platforms, analytics, and digital transformation in insurance. Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead in a fast-paced, complex environment.
