Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour Job description: ABOUT RESILIENT ROOTS Are you a fully licensed therapist who leads with the body, honors lineage, and brings a humanistic approach to your clinical work? Resilient Roots Therapeutic Services is looking for one clinician to grow with us. Resilient Roots is a fully remote, healing-centered telehealth practice rooted in the belief that mental health care must be accessible, culturally affirming, and grounded in the full humanity of every person we serve. We guide individuals — especially people of the global majority — in exploring and healing the full spectrum of their experiences, from intergenerational traumas to ancestral strengths. We believe healing is somatic, relational, spiritual, and generational. Our work honors the mind-body-spirit connection, the lineage we carry, and the wisdom embedded in lived experience. We R.I.S.E. with purpose: • Resilience — as we heal, we nourish ourselves, our families, and our communities • Intergenerational Wisdom — honoring lessons and patterns passed down across generations • Strength — cultivating inner fortitude on the journey of healing • Equity & Awareness — challenging systemic barriers and centering historically marginalized perspectives If your heart is in this work, you belong here. THE ROLE We are hiring one fully licensed therapist who brings clinical skill and a genuine orientation toward whole-person, body-centered, and decolonial healing. You will serve adults 18+ with a focus on BIPOC communities, adult children of immigrants, and individuals navigating complex trauma, identity, and diaspora. This is a W-2 employee position — not a 1099 or independent contractor arrangement. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Provide 25–30 individual telehealth sessions per week via SimplePractice • 3-5 hours of administrative (contingent on caseload) • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized, culturally grounded treatment plans • Integrate somatic, mind-body, and body-centered approaches into clinical work as appropriate • Apply decolonial and liberation-based frameworks to support clients in moving through systemic and intergenerational harm • Complete clinical documentation within required timeframes per NC licensing board standards • Coordinate care with outside providers and community resources as clinically indicated • Follow RRTS crisis protocol for clients presenting with active safety concerns • Attend monthly clinical consultation, team meetings, and supervision WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLY - A MESSAGE TO OUR CANDIDATES We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you think you aren't perfectly qualified, we still encourage you to apply. We’re most interested in finding the best person for the job, and that person may come from a non-traditional background or possess transferable skills we haven't even thought of yet. Studies show that underrepresented groups, e.g., women and people of color] are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every point in the job description, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this role! WHO WE SERVE Populations • BIPOC adults, adult children of immigrants, and individuals from the global majority • Perinatal mental health, caregiving, discrimination and oppression, and chronic illness • Intergenerational trauma and identity Presenting Concerns • Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma • Somatic and Nervous system dysregulation • Grief, identity crisis, and cultural disconnection • Sexuality and gender identity • Anger management and emotional dysregulation • Chronic illness and caregiver burden REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Active, unrestricted LCSW, LMFT, or LPC licensure in North Carolina • Fully licensed only — associates and pre-licensed clinicians are not eligible • Master’s degree from a CSWE-, CACREP-, or COAMFTE-accredited program • Minimum 2 years post-licensure clinical experience providing individual therapy • Experience or interest in working with diverse, marginalized, and historically underserved populations • Current, valid NPI (Type 1 — Individual) • Proficiency with EHR systems and telehealth platforms (SimplePractice) • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security standards as applied in a clinical setting • Warm, professional, and empathetic communication with a diverse client population • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS We do not expect every candidate to bring all of these — we are looking for clinicians who have meaningful background or experience in some of these areas. If several resonate with your training or clinical identity, we want to hear from you. • EMDR training or certification • Training in somatic modalities — Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, somatic IFS, or similar body-based trauma approaches • Registered Art Therapist (ATR or ATR-BC) credential or expressive arts training — candidates holding both a clinical license and an art therapy credential are strongly encouraged to apply • Interest or familiarity with decolonial therapy, liberation psychology, narrative therapy, or Indigenous healing frameworks • Interest or experience integrating mind-body and expressive arts practices into telehealth sessions • Bilingual or multilingual WHAT WE OFFER We are a growing practice and are committed to being transparent about what we offer now and what we are building toward. Compensation & Structure • $45–$48/hour depending on experience • W-2 employment — predictable pay with proper employment classification • Fully remote — work from anywhere in North Carolina (Must be physically living in North Carolina) • Flexible scheduling with autonomy over your calendar Administrative & Clinical Support • Full billing and administrative support — no chasing payments or managing claims • Credentialing support and CAQH profile management handled for you • EHR platform (SimplePractice) provided — no out-of-pocket technology costs • Malpractice insurance guidance and support Supervision & Professional Growth • Monthly clinical supervision at no cost to you • Peer consultation and access to a culturally grounded clinical community • Direct mentorship from Aalih Hussein, PhD, LCSW • Ongoing immersion in decolonial, somatic, and liberation-based clinical frameworks • Growth opportunities as the practice expands Culture & Environment • A practice that centers clinician well-being alongside client care • Genuine investment in your clinical identity, not just your caseload numbers • Collaborative team culture with honest, direct feedback and shared accountability • Mission-aligned work with a community that shares your values WHO THRIVES HERE We are looking for someone who understands that healing lives in the body as much as the mind. Who can hold space for the way colonialism, diaspora, and intergenerational harm show up in the nervous system, the breath, the posture, and the silence between words. The right fit leads with curiosity, not diagnosis. They speak about clients with intelligence and empathy. They are collaborative, open to direct feedback, and deeply committed to anti-oppressive, body-centered, culturally humble practices.
