International Divisional Operations Director Summary: Direct the operational services of a Young Life International division providing Christ centered leadership to ensure that the ministry of Young Life is accountable, credible and fruitful as it introduces adolescents to Jesus Christ and helps them grow in their faith. Essential Duties: Spiritual Leadership Lead the division’s operations in a manner that reflects Young Life’s commitment for every staff person and volunteer to minister as a servant of God with the primary responsibility of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. International Organization Structure — Overarching goal: Develop healthy connectivity to demonstrate unity in Christ, to ensure mission integrity and to be good stewards of the resources God provides. Global structure. Participate in the strategic development of global connectivity for Young Life as a whole. Participate in efforts to create administrative connectivity for staff and volunteers at the Global level of Young Life. Manage the systems for gathering data needed by Young Life for its global reports, such as ministry and camping statistics. Corporate structures Provide feedback in ongoing dialogue of policies on creating international corporate structures. Work with the Young Life Legal Department to facilitate legal set-ups in every country in the division and with ongoing legal matters. Work with each country’s leadership and Service Center departments to implement corporate operations and policies for new and existing organizations. Divisional Organization Structure — Overarching goal: Develop Divisional structures and systems to best steward all resources in the division toward introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ. Divisional structure Facilitate the strategic development of operational connectivity with regions and countries within the division. Coordinate efforts to create administrative connectivity at the staff and volunteer levels within the division. Serve on the Divisional leadership team and on the missionwide International Operations team. Manage systems for providing information the division needs including financial, staff and ministry stats. Corporate structures Help develop regional teams for providing essential administrative services to each country. Serve as the key liaison from the division to the International Operations department and Service Center. Administrative Systems and Policies for Foreign Organizations — Overarching goal: To reduce the administrative burden on all field staff and to allow for integrated global administrative systems. Participate in developing and reviewing guiding principles for Young Life’s foreign organizations to follow when setting up finance and human resource systems. Manage the implementation of finance and human resource systems at the country level throughout the division. Americans Serving Abroad Provide feedback and assist in implementation of administrative policies to guide Americans serving as staff and volunteers outside of the United States. Assist in implementing guidelines for managing risk, health and safety of staff, staff candidates and volunteers. Assist countries in the deployment processes for U.S. based International staff candidates. Review budgets for staff candidates. Ensure the local Young Life team is prepared to receive new staff. Help with the visa process. Monitor expatriate tax processes in host countries. Liaison with the International Field Participate as deemed necessary in International Leadership meetings and conferences. Maintain solid connectivity with the senior vice president of the division. Facilitate regular communication with country administrators in division. As needed, make on-site visits to help understand issues and find solutions. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Job Specific Working Conditions: Additional Job Description Mission & Leadership Provide Christ-centered, mission-effective, forward-looking operational leadership for the LAC Division. Raise up, support, and empower teams that own and lead the full operational scope at every ministry level. Partner with Field Vice Presidents to build a common vision for operational oversight and excellence. Observe trends and weaknesses in operating structures and help lead corrective action. Support and empower operational teams at the VP/GEO level. Equip Operations Coordinators to support VPs, regions, and countries effectively. Equip VPs to manage operational matters and make informed decisions alongside their operations teams. Operational Intelligence & Strategic Development Cultivate methods and processes for effective operational analysis, growth, and support. Interpret and synthesize operational information to aid critical decision-making. Assist in designing and enhancing dashboards and reporting tools. Support development of training and experience needed for field leaders to effectively oversee operational responsibilities. Systems & Infrastructure Support development, maintenance, and integration of core operating systems and infrastructure. Ensure systems evolve and mature in scalable ways that support ministry growth. Support operational infrastructure and systems that allow the mission to scale and mature. Design and support operational processes that can be effectively implemented across multiple ministry levels. Human Resources Help establish, enhance, and integrate HR protocols, systems, and infrastructure across the division. Work with leadership to ensure organizational structures and job roles are clearly defined. Help develop and support hiring and onboarding processes. Cultivate processes that support healthy and effective staff evaluation. Continue developing policies, procedures, and documentation that ensure compliance and consistency. Coordinate and liaise with International HR regarding initiatives and projects. Maintain a high value of the volunteer spirit and shared mission calling. Orient HR practices toward helping leaders flourish and advancing ministry effectiveness. Legal, Risk & Compliance Cultivate a culture of operational excellence and compliance. Help build scalable legal frameworks that support ministry growth. Understand and help secure appropriate legal liability coverage. Help manage internal and external auditing processes. Coordinate and liaise with International and divisional legal counsel. Ensure controls are adequately designed, implemented, and reviewed to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Property & Camping Coordination Partner with camp coordinators and divisional teams on camp and training center property projects. Serve as liaison with the International Camping Department. Support property construction and development initiatives as needed. Communication & Collaboration Coordinate closely with divisional strategic and operational leadership teams. Facilitate regular communication with GEO Operations Team Leads. Maintain working relationships with international leadership teams and committees. Maintain proactive communication across multiple time zones and leadership levels. Qualifications & Skills Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority. Experience supervising or mentoring staff in matrixed reporting structures. Demonstrated ability to train and empower others. Strong cross-cultural leadership skills. Ability to learn, design, master, and teach operational systems. Ability to work effectively with remote and geographically dispersed teams. Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and teach enterprise software platforms such as Workday and Salesforce. Ability to manage crisis and conflict with professionalism and consistency. Ability to handle legal, personnel, and sensitive matters with strict confidentiality. Strong self-awareness and contextual awareness. Working knowledge of Young Life operational and financial controls and models. Working Conditions Remote position based in or willing to relocate to an LAC country. Willingness to work in a variety of environments including offices, camps, and ministry settings. Travel throughout the division and internationally as needed. Candidate responsible for funding the role, with divisional support considered as needed. Expected to volunteer as a Young Life leader in their local area. NOTE: In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States.  The anticipated salary rate for this position can range from $76,150-$104,075 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
