Key Responsibilities
- Performs and assists clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Collects various clinical data on clients, including vital signs, temperature, and respiration
- Assists clients and caregivers in using medical equipment and provides education on proper use and maintenance
- Notifies professional nurse or nurse supervisor of deviations that could be detrimental to the health and safety of the client
- Appropriately reports changes and documents pertinent information and care rendered to patients to ensure continuity of care
- Provides emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, promoting a positive and supportive care environment
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of experience as a CNA, with a strong background in home health care
- A valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
- A valid Driver's License and automobile liability insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 5-10 years of experience as a CNA, with a strong background in home health care
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology
- A strong understanding of home health care regulations and standards, including JCAHO accreditation
