IB Part-time/Online Academic Specialist/Instructor

About the Company What do we do? Co-founded by Harvard graduates, Sinica Education provides online educational content to middle school, high school and college students. Using online tools, we provide short online courses, academic counseling, one-on-one teaching, and other academic support and guidance to ensure our students’ academic success. About the Role Sinica Education is looking for part time instructors to join our team. Specifically, we are looking for instructors who can teach 2+ subjects in the following subject areas (up to IB HL and lower college level) for our high school and lower level college tutoring programs: • We are prioritizing candidates who can tutor students in geography, psychology, and Environmental Systems and Societies* • History (SL/HL) • Geography (SL/HL) • Economics (SL/HL) • Psychology (SL/HL) • Philosophy (SL/HL) • Global Politics (SL/HL) • Business Management (SL/HL) • World Religions (SL only) • Social and Cultural Anthropology (SL/HL) • Biology (SL/HL) • Chemistry (SL/HL) • Physics (SL/HL) • Computer Science (SL/HL) • Design Technology (SL/HL) • Environmental Systems and Societies (SL only) • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (SL/HL) • Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (SL/HL) Other level high school/lower level college subjects Location: Remote/Flexible Hours: Flexible 8-20 Hours per week Usually classes are scheduled for weekday and weekends: • Weekday: 7 AM to 10 AM EST, 7 PM to 10 PM EST • Weekend: Flexible You can pick your suitable hours. Current Master's and Ph.D. students are encouraged to apply (given legal working status). Qualifications • MUST hold a BA/BS or graduate degree from a top 30 university. Those holding a MA/MS and PhD are encouraged to apply. • A real passion for education and a desire to work with international students of different backgrounds, ages, and ability levels. • Familiar with IB curriculum and requirements. Preferred Skills • Classroom teaching experience at the high school or university level. • Experience with high school curriculum design. • One-on-one tutoring experience with high school or university students. • Experience with online learning platforms.
