You’ll play a critical role in shaping the stability, performance, and evolution of the Compleat platform while leading day-to-day technical delivery. Working alongside an experienced Engineering Lead, you’ll influence engineering practices, mentor team members, and drive high-quality outcomes in a globally distributed team. This is the perfect opportunity for a senior engineer ready to grow into technical leadership while staying close to the code.   Key Responsibilities • Serve as the technical reference point for engineers across EMEA and Asia working on the Compleat platform • Review code, guide technical decisions, and ensure consistent engineering standards (code quality, testing, documentation, API practices) • Triage and resolve technical issues and incidents; escalate critical risks when required • Identify and communicate technical debt and risks, providing practical improvement recommendations • Support planning activities including requirement breakdown and estimation validation • Maintain deep expertise in the Compleat platform and its integrations • Ensure coordinated, well-managed releases and mitigate regression risks • Onboard engineers by sharing platform knowledge, business rules, and integrations • Improve operational processes including deployment, incident management, and on-call practices • Lead day-to-day team operations, including prioritization and unblocking across regions • Provide ongoing technical feedback, mentoring, and support for engineering growth • Contribute to performance conversations in partnership with the Engineering Lead • Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture across time zones • Communicate progress, blockers, and risks clearly to leadership • Collaborate with AMER counterparts to align on shared work and avoid duplication • Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions • Contribute to cross-team initiatives involving the Compleat platform • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive Experience & Qualifications  • Strong hands-on experience with the Compleat platform and its technical landscape • Proficiency in VB.NET (core language of the codebase) • Experience with API integrations (REST and SOAP) • Solid knowledge of travel industry operations, including TMC processes or booking/back-office workflows • Ability to work effectively within existing/legacy codebases • Experience performing code reviews and guiding technical direction • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Experience mentoring or leading engineers in a team environment • Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing (preferred) • Experience with Azure, GitHub Actions, and Datadog (preferred) • Exposure to C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript (nice to have) • Experience working across multiple time zones and distributed teams • Agile or iterative delivery experience (preferred)   Reliable, high-speed internet connectivity required to support core job responsibilities, including but not limited to video conferencing, access to company systems, and secure handling of company data.   Work Perks! - What’s in it for you: FCTG is renowned internationally for having amazing perks and an even better culture.  We understand that our people are our most valuable asset.
