Job Summary
The Web Content Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web content that is engaging, accessible, and informative. This will involve working closely with the project manager, presentation layer developer, and web management team to discuss suggestions, issues, and guidance. The successful candidate will have experience in web development using Drupal, data visualization using Tableau or Power BI, and experience with ADA accessibility requirements and best practices. The role will also involve developing, maintaining, and supporting Extract Transform and Load processes using Informatica and/or SQL, and integrating Tableau or Power BI visuals into the web environment using Drupal on an Apache Server.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web content that is engaging, accessible, and informative
- Work closely with the project manager, presentation layer developer, and web management team to discuss suggestions, issues, and guidance
- Develop, maintain, and support Extract Transform and Load processes using Informatica and/or SQL
- Integrate Tableau or Power BI visuals into the web environment using Drupal on an Apache Server
- Implement ADA accessibility requirements and best practices when developing visuals using Tableau or Power BI
- Implement ADA accessibility requirements and best practices when developing web pages
- Thoroughly test and document each step taken and perform knowledge transfer to the CDE staff
- Provide documentation to the project manager, including details on the work provided and at a level that a department employee can use the information to support the work at the end of the contract
- Submit detailed status reports or participate in weekly status meetings as required by the department
- Attend required meetings with the required project stakeholders as directed by the department
Essential Qualifications
- 5 years of experience developing using Drupal
- 3 years of experience making web content compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)
- 3 years of experience using Tableau Desktop to create visuals
- 3 years of experience using SQL
- Strong requirements gathering skills: ability to work with customers to gather reporting requirements and translate into a data model for reporting using Tableau, Power BI, and Ad-hoc queries
- Strong administrative skills, including repository management and knowledge of best practices regarding aggregate tables and data marts
- Experience working on Azure and implementing reporting layer tables using ETL logic which pulls data from an Oracle or SQL Server database
- Experience working with star schemas and loading reporting layer tables
- Preferred experience with Informatica or IICS or similar ETL tool
Preferred Qualifications
- Connecting Drupal to an external database, Oracle preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI
- Experience with web development frameworks, such as Apache Server
- Experience with agile project management methodologies
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with both business users and technical staff
