About the Role
This position is part of the Engineering Group within the Integrated Operations Division at arenaflex. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. You will also establish and maintain aircraft and component standards within areas of responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training for technicians in area(s) of expertise
- Act as a mentor to other engineers
- Lead teams and coordinate project management or issue resolution
- Collaborate with manufacturers and regulatory authorities, as required, and ensure that engineering procedures are properly validated according to relevant regulations and company manuals
- Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals
- Stay informed about daily airline operations, including field of responsibility, and review daily needs according to aircraft/departmental objectives and management directives
- Analyze aircraft/component issues that may cause aircraft delays or cancellations, significant uses of labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Provide engineering support as needed to resolve discrepant situations affecting aircraft or components to restore operational status
- Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline departments when technical assistance is required to support operations or resolve issues
- Develop action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects and pursue detailed implementations according to estimated needs
- Coordinate with other airline departments, as necessary, to ensure effective and efficient implementation of engineering procedures
- Prepare engineering documents to implement technical procedures by providing customized methods for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities that provide benefits according to airline/departmental objectives and management directives
- Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming regulations that affect areas of responsibility and ensure that all engineering activities maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
- Utilize available resources to build levels of technical expertise and practical experience consistently, and also strive to improve communication skills, time management, and other personal characteristics relevant to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties
- Effectively engage with frontline colleagues and management alike
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or related Engineering license
- At least 1 year of engineering experience in a related field, or 2 years of experience without a degree
- An A&P license
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to analyze technical data and make data-driven decisions
- Demonstrated ability, capacity, and willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations that promote acceptance of solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
- Additional certifications or licenses relevant to the role
- Experience with project management and team leadership
