Job Summary
In this role, you will utilize your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product instinct to analyze complex data sets and inform product development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance, to identify and solve product improvement challenges. Your work will have a significant impact on product strategy and investment decisions, and you will be responsible for communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide range of challenging problems using advanced analytical and statistical techniques.
- Apply technical knowledge with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and presentation of data to develop strategies for products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses.
- Identify and measure the success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and tracking of key product metrics to recognize trends.
- Define, identify, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through insights and recommendations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Product Data Science, including extensive experience with experimentation.
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
- Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation/causal inference methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
- Experience working with large and complex data sets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
