**About the Role:**
As a Distributed Systems Engineer at blithequark, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying scalable, secure, and high-performance distributed systems. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise will be essential in architecting and building a strong, versatile, and highly accessible distributed foundation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Design, build, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance distributed systems
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions
* Architect and build a strong, versatile, and highly accessible distributed foundation
* Drive cross-functional drives and work with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across groups
* Offer experiences to the open source community and contribute to blithequark OSS
* Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code is delivered
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
* Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in distributed systems
**Focus Areas:**
* **Database Access Stage:** Build and maintain an adaptable query interface that works with data reflections to operate at sub-millisecond latencies while allowing Netflix microservices to more easily store, consume, and manage their data.
* **Data Stage Foundation:** Serve as a platform for our own data platforms. Our common framework and tooling enable Netflix to rapidly enhance on giving cutting-edge data and analysis frameworks to the rest of the organization without building customized platforms for each new framework.
* **Big Data Figure:** Responsible for giving the cloud-local stage for circulated information handling at Netflix. This group is vital to bunch information handling in Information Stage.
* **Big Data Arrangement:** Offers the stage for planning, organizing and executing huge information occupations and work processes in a self serve way.
**Requirements:**
* 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications
* Proficient in the design and development of Soothing web services
* Experienced in building and working adaptable, shortcoming open-minded, distributed systems
* Knowledgeable in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
* Multi-threading is a challenge that you are open to handling
* BS in Software Engineering or a related field
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with distributed data storage systems, such as Hadoop, Cassandra, or MongoDB
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
* Knowledge of containerization, such as Docker
* Experience with DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and delivery
* Strong understanding of security principles and practices
