About the Role
We're seeking an experienced full stack data engineering manager who can make a significant impact and provide a feasible guide as well as build and lead a diverse team of top-notch data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. In this role, you will collaborate with data science, engineering, and business leaders to scale business intelligence for Netflix's entire financial ecosystem. You will help the team overcome technical challenges that come with the constantly increasing volume and complexity of our productions – all while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Give technical vision and strategy to building a data environment that enables Netflix to leverage data around finance across cross-functional teams
- Construct strong relationships across business, science, analysis, and engineering partners
- Balance immediate partner needs versus longer-term vision
- Lead a high-performing team of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to execute a common vision between analysis, engineering, and colleagues
- Develop and guide this team through smart feedback and fearless, fair criticism
- Build a secure and robust data ecosystem for Netflix's entire financial environment
About You
You are an experienced data engineer with a proven track record of recruiting and leading high-performing, data-centric teams with diverse technical skills. You have a demonstrated history of managing a large, successful team. You understand that the primary aspect of your responsibilities is putting the team in a position to succeed. Through coaching, mentoring, and feedback, you help other specialists make sound technical decisions, improve their code quality, and expand their skill sets.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based systems and web application development
- Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering complex projects on time
- Strong technical skills in data engineering, data science, and cloud-based systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.
