Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Credit Assistant to provide support to our credit department. As a fully remote role, this position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Under direct supervision, you will be responsible for performing various duties, including record-keeping, account reconciliation, credit application processing, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of credit transactions, deposits, and payments, ensuring that all financial data is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations by adjusting incorrect credit charges and granting extensions of credit on overdue accounts, following predetermined guidelines.
- Credit Application Processing: Process credit applications for potential new customer accounts, keeping records of applications, and notifying customers of acceptance or rejection.
- Customer Communication: Contact credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references, and provide customer credit information or ratings to businesses, credit agencies, or banks.
- Credit Limit Establishment: Assist in establishing credit limits, considering factors such as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED): Required, or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, credit bureaus, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Basic analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
