As an independent Commercial Insurance Advisor, you'll build strong relationships with local business owners, entrepreneurs, and organizations, helping them protect what matters most. You'll leverage your network, business development mindset, and advisory expertise to deliver tailored commercial insurance and risk management solutions, while establishing yourself as a trusted professional in your community.
This is an independent, business-building opportunity. You will run your own advisory practice as an independent contractor, distributing Co-operators products under the Co-operators brand.
How You Will Create Impact
- Become a trusted advisor in your community by partnering with business owners, entrepreneurs, and organizations to understand their risks and provide tailored insurance and risk management solutions
- Build and grow a profitable, sustainable commercial insurance portfolio by prospecting, networking, and developing referral relationships in high-opportunity markets
- Deliver proactive, advice-based service that strengthens client loyalty, retention, and drives long-term growth
- Act as a visible and professional independent representative of Co-operators, strengthening our reputation and presence in the communities we serve

- Hold a valid provincial general insurance license (or are willing to obtain one) and meet ongoing licensing and continuing education requirements
- Have experience in commercial or personal lines insurance
- Have experience running your own business
- Have a background in financial services, banking, B2B sales, account management, or business development
- Have worked in client-facing advisory or relationship-management roles where trust and credibility matter
