This position is based in Palo Alto, CA or San Francisco, CA and requires 3 days a week in the office with flexibility to work from home as appropriate. AboutThe RoleOur team is a multidisciplinary group of hardware, embedded software, and cloud engineers dedicated to creating innovative wearable and consumer electronic products.We combine deep technical expertise and passion for technology to bring ideas from early concept to production. What You Might Do:Specify, design, and validate audio transducer systems including micro speakers, microphones, enclosures, and ports for consumer devices to meet target audio quality metrics. Manage technical trade‑offs between power, performance, and form factor constraints, working closely with mechanical, industrial design, and EE teams. Lead component selection, including transducers, amplifiers, and passive components.Collaborate with software DSP teams to tune and optimize the full audio signal chain. Conduct root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of audio performance issues, including noise, distortion, and interference. Develop test plans, procedures, and documentation to support validation. Oversee schematic design, PCB layout, bring‑up, and test of audio circuits, working with internal teams and external partners. Essential QualificationsRequires Bachelors or Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.7 years of experience in audio hardware design and system architectureExpertise in audio transducer design and speaker enclosure design, acoustic modeling, and system‑level integration for consumer or wearable devices. Strong understanding of analog and digital audio signal processing. Familiarity with audio test equipment and measurement techniques (e.g., Audio Precision, Klippel). Preferred SkillsExperience leading engineering teams in a cross‑functional and fast‑paced environment.
