PHI was distinguished as one of the top 50 “Best Non-Profit Organizations to Work For” by the Non-Profit Times in a national search.Position SummaryAs one of Public Health Institute’s programs, Health Intervention Projects for Underserved Populations (HIPUP) conducts community-based research/programs for underserved populations (e.g., gender and ethnic minorities) in the field of substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and trauma prevention and treatment. Through collaboration with targeted communities, HIPUP strives to have a significant impact on health promotion and human rights for underserved communities locally and internationally. The Health Educator I will work for the SAMHSA.CSAT funded project, Flourish2 Project, targeting high-risk women including ethnic, gender, and sexual minorities in Alameda and San Francisco counties.The project aims to provide Motivational Enhancement Intervention and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reduce substance use and HIV risk behaviors and promote health and well-being by linking clients to appropriate community-based behavioral health services. This is a full-time position expected to work 100% FTE with a work schedule of 40 hours/week. This position is currently remote and is required to travel to the San Francisco Bay Area (mainly Oakland and San Francisco) to attend meetings and conduct outreach activities a few times a week or more as needed.The incumbent must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and have the ability to travel locally and work some non-standard hours as required. Full pay range for this position: $23.63 to $32.93 per hour. The typical hiring range for this position is from $23.63 (minimum) to $28.28 (midpoint) per hour. The starting wage is determined using a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity considerations and budget availability.
