This is a unique, remote opportunity tailored for early-career or recently graduated genetic counselors looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Supporting a virtual genetics clinic, the role focuses on foundational clinical tasks such as chart preparation, documentation, and targeted research. You’ll have the chance to explore innovative genetic testing and observe real-time counseling sessions, while working only a few hours per month.If you’re passionate about patient-centered, inclusive genetic care and want to contribute meaningfully to a forward-thinking healthcare model, this project is ideal. Accountabilities:• Support virtual genetic counseling services through detailed patient chart preparation. • Compile relevant medical and family history, test results, and clinical details to optimize counselor readiness. • Draft standardized notes for hereditary cancer and cardiovascular risk assessments, population screening, and results disclosure using provided templates.• Research and evaluate emerging genetic tests (e.g. polygenic risk scores, APOE) and present evidence-based recommendations for potential clinical adoption. • (Optional) Observe virtual counseling sessions, gaining insight into integrated primary care applications in genetics. • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited program. • ABGC certification or board-eligibility (no licensure required). • Demonstrated experience in clinical cancer or cardiovascular genetics. • Self-starter with strong remote working capabilities and proactive communication.• Enthusiasm for expanding access to inclusive, patient-focused genetic care. • Flexible, fully remote role based in the U.S. • Minimal time commitment: approximately 5 hours/month over a 3–4 month period. • Stipend compensation:• $750 for 3 months• $1,000 for 4 months• Rolling start date based on your availability. • Exposure to innovative virtual healthcare models and real-world genetic counseling applications.
