Fund Controller - Alternative InvestmentsWe are currently seeking candidates for a Fund Controller opportunity with a leading investment management firm located in Boston, MA. The Fund Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting, reporting, and operational processes for a portfolio of alternative investment funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong fund accounting experience within private equity, hedge funds, or alternative asset management.This is a 2.5 month contract opportunity paying between $60-$80/hour (depending on experience). This role follows a fully remote work model, candidates must be willing to support east coast hours (EST). Responsibilities:• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for assigned funds, including NAV calculations and investor allocations. • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by administrators or internal teams. • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders.• Ensure compliance with fund governing documents, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements. • Monitor and analyze fund performance metrics, valuations, and investment activity. • Support capital activity, including calls, distributions, and investor reporting. • Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward preferred). • 6+ years of fund accounting experience within alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, or real estate funds).• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and investment fund structures. • Proficiency in Excel and fund accounting software (e.g., Investran, Geneva, or similar). • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines. • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
