About Us:The Center for Asia-Pacific Security and Taiwan Studies is a nonprofit research organization focusing on U.S.–Taiwan relations, Indo-Pacific security, and global political trends. We produce policy-oriented research by gathering insights from experts and integrating them into academic analysis. Job Overview We are seeking a political journalist, preferably based in or familiar with Washington, D.C to conduct interviews related to major U.S. political developments. This role directly supports our research team by providing high-quality interview notes and contextual insights from knowledgeable sources.Responsibilities: - Conduct interviews (remote or on-site) with subject-matter experts - Identify and reach out to suitable interviewees - Provide organized interview notes or clean transcripts - Follow current political developments and policy discussions - Collaborate with the research team by supplying commentary and insights Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in political journalism or relevant journalism training - Strong interviewing and source-development abilities - Clear writing and documentation skills - Self-motivated and able to work independently - Familiarity with Washington, D.C.is a strong advantage but not requiredCompensation: - Project-based, paid per assignment - Rates depend on interview type, length, and complexity - Long-term collaboration possible.
