About theRole: Data Engineering ManagerWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our team in developing and maintaining our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and driving data solutions across the business.As a key member of our technical team, you will have the opportunity to mentor a talented group of engineers, refine our Agile processes, and partner with company leadership and our data analyst community to maximize the EDW team's effectiveness and align projects with our strategic business goals. Key Responsibilities• EDW Leadership: Drive the development and maintenance of the EDW, ensuring high uptime, reliability, and data quality. Adapt standards and practices to reduce wasted effort and increase velocity of value delivery.• Technical Mentorship: As a seasoned expert in data architecture, master data management, and data governance, you will play a crucial role in elevating our data engineering standards. Invest deeply in our development staff, mentoring them to enhance their skills and refine their approaches. • Strategic Collaboration: Forge strong relationships with the analyst, data ingestion, and tooling teams to drive business priorities and ensure seamless data integration and utilization. Ensure the design of the EDW facilitates data activation across the enterprise.• Operational Excellence: Implement effective methodologies in software design and architecture. Continuously improve testing environments and QA practices. Establish and maintain monitoring tools to ensure platform stability and meet operational SLOs. • Data Stewardship: Serve as the data owner and functional SME, overseeing data quality and governance within your assigned areas. Lead your team to become "trail guides" who enable self-service analytics, guiding the organization towards more informed, data-driven decision-making.Essential QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:• A high school diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent relevant experience preferred. • 10+ years of experience in software development or data engineering, with 3+ years of experience managing and developing a data engineering or business intelligence team. • Expertise in SQL and ETL/ELT methodologies, with proficiency in data modeling methodologies such as Kimball and Data Vault.• Experience working in an Agile environment, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, manage competing initiatives, and adapt to an ever-changing work pace with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
