Job Title: Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) – DentalPosition SummaryThe Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) serves as the senior clinical leader responsible for overseeing all dental operations and ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, operation initiative support and regulatory compliance across the organization. The CCO provides strategic direction for clinical quality, professional development, compliance, and innovation in dental care delivery. This role partners closely with executive leadership, regional dental directors, and providers to align clinical performance with the organization’s mission, values, and growth objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Strategy• Develop and implement the organization’s clinical strategy to ensure consistent, high-quality dental care across all practices. • Serve as the senior advisor on all clinical policies, treatment protocols, and professional standards. • Align clinical goals with operational, financial, and patient experience objectives. • Represent the clinical perspective in strategic planning and organizational decision-making. Quality Assurance & Compliance• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve clinical quality standards, infection control, and patient safety practices.• Oversee quality assurance programs, clinical audits, and peer review processes. • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, and dental board requirements. • Lead initiatives to achieve and maintain accreditation and licensure standards. Clinical Operations• Supervise and support Operations, Hygiene team and Lead Dentists to ensure operational and clinical consistency. • Collaborate with operations leadership to optimize scheduling, case acceptance, treatment planning, and patient outcomes.• Participate in clinical budgeting, equipment planning, and technology investments. • Develop and maintain clinical protocols and evidence-based practice guidelines. Training &Professional Development• Promote ongoing provider education, mentorship, and skills development programs. • Lead credentialing, privileging, and continuing education efforts for dentists and hygienists. • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional integrity. Innovation & Growth• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, digital dentistry tools, and modern care models.• Support research, pilot programs, and process improvements to advance patient care and efficiency. • Lead initiatives to improve patient experience and satisfaction. Qualifications• Education: DDS or DMD required; advanced degrees (MBA, MHA, MPH, or specialty certification) preferred. • Licensure: Active and unrestricted dental license in the practicing state(s). Experience:• Minimum 8–10 years of clinical dentistry experience, with at least 5 years in a senior clinical leadership role (e.g., Dental Director, Regional Clinical Director, or CCO).• Must have Experience and proven Track Record of leading and managing multiple Dental practice locations or Group Dental Practices.
