JOB SUMMARYThe Automation Support Specialist oversees automated order processing systems that directly support print and fulfillment operations. Acting as a bridge between technical systems and production workflows, this role works closely with the Business Automation team and production stakeholders to understand and optimize end-to-end processes—both physical and digital.While this is not primarily a development role, candidates with experience in C# and the.NET Framework, or those with some programming fundamentals and a desire to grow into development over time, are highly preferred. Key responsibilities include monitoring automation performance, troubleshooting workflow issues, and collaborating with IT and business teams to implement improvements that enhance efficiency and quality. The Automation Support Specialist also serves as a primary point of contact for issues related to automated workflows and technical solutions.This position is responsible for ensuring all activities within its scope are carried out with a strong focus on quality, safety, consistency, and continuous process improvement. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Oversee and confirm success of automated processing workflows• Work with business to identify workflow improvements• Work with IT team to evaluate and execute improvements• Support automated processes for maximizing efficiency, and effectiveness. Design process layout to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure products meet quality standards while minimizing production problems and costs.• Act as a technical resource to the plant personnel and other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems related to assigned functions• Analyses department procedures regarding quality, cost effectiveness, accuracy, efficiency, and productivity. • Effectively communicates both written and verbal instructions in a timely and clear fashion. • Monitors and documents plans and performance against production viability. • Implements training and process improvement actions. • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.• Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations. • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of production. • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. • Performs other duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• 2 years of experience in a technical or support role related to automation or production workflows• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies• Understanding of databases and Microsoft SQL Server• Candidates with C#/.NET experience, or solid understanding of programming fundamentals, and a desire to grow into a development role are highly preferred• Candidates located in Eastern, Central, or Pacific time zones are preferred for alignment with core business hours.Preferred Skills• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical, problem-solving capabilities. • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently. • Flexible during times of change. • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity. • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.• Technical experience in the following areas preferred: Mail Processing, Variable Print, ERP, Warehousing/Fulfillment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects. • Ability to use computer and calculator. • Ability to sit for extended periods of time. • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines. • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.• Travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
