As a Lead in Construction & Engineering, you’ll play a key role in the construction of one of the largest fiber networks in the world! In this role, you’ll manage contract resources responsible for installation, turn-up, maintenance, building and repairing sub-structure, splicing placement, rearrangement and/or the removal of Outside Plant and digital facilities. You’ll ensure that work processes, standards and master plans are in conformance, schedules are adhered to by contractors, grounding practices are followed and that facilities are placed per the engineering work order regarding utility easements and/or right-of-way footages. You may also work with local municipalities to follow permit specifications and meet with inspectors for pre and post construction inspections and acceptance. Key Roles and Responsibilities: • Provide interpretation of terms and conditions of contractual obligations • Write “Work Orders” with precise instructions and verbiage • Travel to local worksites to observe installations and assuring contract work is in compliance with AT&T standards, laws and regulations • Serve as point of contact for construction changes or questions coming from the contractor or internal organizations • Conduct quality inspections of contract work and refer all safety issues immediately to the contracting firm for handling • Coordinate payment of invoices and the change order process • May monitor inventory and order materials as necessary • Responsible for providing customer support and addressing customer concerns • Review all final documents for accuracy, final billing and any record updates • Participate in Duty Roster rotation and have responsibility for out of hours/weekend management of outside plant damage restoration • Maintain supervisory responsibilities of the technicians during their Duty Roster rotation • Typically reports to second or third level management Education: • High school diploma, GED or equivalent related network experience • Technical degree preferred Experience: • 3-5 years of network related technical experience, • 3-5 years’ experience with supervising construction crews or vendors performing fiber to home installation • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and other safety standards • Ability to multi-task; strong organization and communication skills • Working knowledge of CFAS, GeoLink, IQ Geo, Amaris, ServiceNow, SiteForge and/or other engineering systems used in large scale fiber builds A career with us, a global leader in communications and technology, comes with big rewards.
