Aston Carter Cost Accounting Systems Manager (Remote) in Kansas City, Missouri

Aston Carter is partnered with a great company in the Kansas City area who is looking to hire a Cost Accounting Systems Manager. The role is 100% remote and this person can work anywhere in the United States. The company needs someone with 15+ years of accounting experience and a strong cost accounting background. A CPA is highly preferred as well. They need someone who has a high-level knowledge that can come in and work heavily in their system. The manager is needing someone who is able to configure the system to work how it needs to work.The role is an IT/systems heavy role but they need someone who has a strong accounting background for the role as well. The role is contract-to-hire, targeting a pay is $60 – 75/hr and can start ASAP! Job Description:• Subject Matter Expert in company operations and accounting processes and proper accounting treatment for all areas of accounting. • Manage and develop a team of experts who are able to troubleshoot and configure system functions to support accounting requirements• Manage project list including identifying relevant projects, gathering preliminary information on scope and requirements, ensuring deadlines are reasonable, and assigning projects to ensure workload balanced and project leader has the proper knowledge/skill to complete• Assist in system setup and configuration for all accounting related systems• Test coordination and execution for system processes impacting the accounting team• Documentation of standard operating procedures related to accounting system processes• Development and execution of system training• Monitor system usage and ensure upstream processes are executed correctly to ensure accurate accounting is recorded• Maintain system accounting rules ensuring accurate execution of accounting transaction recording• Troubleshoot system issues and drive root cause resolution• Lead process improvement activities and gain business approval for changes which result in streamlining accounting results and reducing process execution timeMinimumQualifications:• Strong technical accounting experience (15+ years)• 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience required• Bachelors in Accounting/Finance required• CPA preferred• Strong Excel skills required• Large ERP systems experience preferredAbout Aston Carter:Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.Specialized in accounting, finance, human resources, talent acquisition, procurement, supply chain and select administrative professions, we extend the capabilities of industry-leading companies.
