Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Associate Project Manager is an entry level Project Management position assisting in the delivery of the design and construction related activities for capital projects as assigned. This position conducts activities related to project controls, communications, contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, schedule requirements, and risk management to ensure projects are completed with successful outcomes in quality, timeliness and bolthires effectiveness.The Assistant Project Manager interfaces and communicates with the hospital and clinical operations leadership and project sponsors for project coordination, as appropriate. This position reports directly to System Director with indirect reporting toSenior Project Managers, Market Managers, or System Managers, as assigned. Assist in scheduling and managing the project delivery process for all assigned projects. Support the project team in establishing scope, schedule and budget and is responsible for maintaining the objectives throughout each phase of the project.Provide internal and external project communications to ensure all team members are advised of project status. Responsible for coordination between construction team, consultants and facility operations. Monitor construction activities to ensure conformance with approved documents and specifications, regulations, codes, standards and laws that are applicable to the project. Maintain relationships with approving authorities at the federal, state and local level. Participate in negotiating fees and making business decisions for project vendors in accordance with CommonSpirit Health policies.Crosstrain with Facility Management Trainees to familiarize self with hospital facilities operations. Ensure Infection Control Risk Analysis and Pre-Construction Risk Analysis are completed and executed on each assigned project. Work with FFE, Medical Equipment, Technology Integration, and Project Activation teams to become familiar with each aspect of project delivery. Assist as a member of the project management team as established in the organization and responsibilitiesmatrix at the start of each project, as well as project reporting related to budget, scope, and schedule issues involved in assigned project.Job RequirementsRequired:Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture or 4-6 years Equivalent experience requiredExperience in and around project design and construction related meetings and presentations. Basic knowledge of project delivery methods such as design-build, design-bid-build or others. Education or experience in developing conceptual project scope, schedules and budgets. Education or experience with construction processes, building and safety codes.
