Associate Forensic Analyst

Job Description: • Under supervision of Sr. Forensic Analyst, Manager(s) and Director, work with external and internal clients to analyze project requests and to plan and execute forensic support for simple data collections and investigations. • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for identification, collection and preservation of digital evidence as well as Chain of Custody procedures. • Collect, process, and analyze electronically stored information (ESI) obtained from network, cloud and end user digital sources in accordance with industry standards.• Conduct basic research and solutions to simple project-related requests and issues. • Develop the proper methods and techniques used for conducting data collections and forensic investigations. Show the ability to develop and understand the skills necessary to conduct simple computer forensic data collections and investigations. • Use and have basic knowledge of how to use industry standard digital forensic tools (EnCase, Axiom, Blacklight, Cellebrite and Utilities). • Provide written and verbal status updates to internal clients in a clear and concise manner.• Conduct or assist with forensic acquisition and preservation of electronic data from a wide range of information technology environments and platforms including social media and mobile devices. Participate in remote imaging and data captures. Coordinate and track all electronic collection activities, maintain chain of custody and project lifecycle documentation to ensure computer forensic protocols are met. • Provide effective professional communication with customers through all forms of communication including direct contact, voice, e-mail, MS Teams, etc., while demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate in a fluent, comprehensive and professional manner.• Provide a high level of customer service and technical support as needed or required. Assist case managers with customer scoping calls, questions, and general support with clients about reports and accessing output data that has been provided to them. • Learn the proper methods and techniques used for conducting forensic investigations. Show the ability to learn and understand the advanced skills necessary to conduct larger scale computer forensic investigations. • The responsibilities of this role may require the individual to be part of an on-call program which may require 24/7 availability from time to time as needed.• Long hours and shift work are a requirement to meet the deadlines of CF projects. • Work experience or Higher Education training in 1 area of Digital Forensic solutions or processes. • Additional responsibilities may include documentation and training of learned knowledge to engineers and/or project teams, or temporary departmental work as needed. Requirements: • Work experience or higher education training in 1 area of Digital Forensic solutions or processes • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or a technical school certificate in science related areas and 0 to 3 yrs.relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • Demonstrate integrity, accountability, respect and commitment to KLDiscovery • Demonstrate excellence in managing all functions of the job • Apply the knowledge and skills required to perform at the highest level • Demonstrate best practices in professional relationships • Focus on job execution and achieving results • Hands-on experience with laptops, desktops, etc. • Understanding of Network Architectures • KLDiscovery’s proprietary Technologies knowledge and/or experience.For new (external) candidates, this knowledge and experience will be gained through training after hire.
