The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a true partner in supporting HR field operations for the Focus Service hotels. We are a national, growing company with over 10,000 employees, 3,000+ in the focus service division. The HRBP will assist General Managers, Regional Directors of Operations, and Field Leaders in all HR activities including Performance Management (employee relations, performance cycles, investigations, training), Staffing and Recruiting, HR Cycles (employee engagement, performance and compensation) administration and compliance (HRIS management, leave and injury management) and effective HR communications.The role has a variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing. Since goals and desired results can quickly change, the job requires regularly meeting with and pro-actively establishing relationships with new people. The ability to understand, quickly react, and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization is an essential key to success. Decisions will many times lead to ambiguous situations and will generally require the advice of others and collaboration with the Corporate HR Leaders. The work environment is fast paced and multi-faceted.While there is urgency for goal achievement, the responsibility for achieving results is often shared and delegated. Job Description• Operational/Functional: Serve as point of contact for hotel leaders on various HR inquiries and needs including:• Recruiting, Onboarding, and Training• Employee Performance and Investigations: Take the lead in investigating all Significant Employee Investigation employee relations claims. Ensure Significant Employee Investigation SOP is followed. • HRIS: Troubleshoot errors obtained by field leaders in HRIS system.Assist in correcting errors or creating AYS tickets where errors are found. • Benefits andCompensation: Assist Field Leaders in communicating and completing AnnualCompensation Planning Cycle, new hire and open enrollment, and leave or accommodation requests. • Employee Safety and Employee Injury, Illness, or Disability: Support workers comp claim process. • Leading with Passion• Responsible for ensuring success through the eyes of employees, guests, and owners• Utilize and collaborate with resources across Hotels and the corporate office• Capable of influencing employees to perform to their highest standard and establishing a trusting environment to enrich the culture• Focus on the mission and well-being of the department, hotel, and company as a whole• Lead by example and operate with integrity and respect• Inspire the group you support to embrace and demonstrate our values and GUEST People StandardsA candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. • HR Certification is preferred. • 4+ years of employee relations experience is required. • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. • Experience in delivering HR services remotely. • Experience with Transient Labor preferred. • Experience with hotel/condo/retail environments preferred. • Prior use of HRIS system required (workday preferred)• Minimum 4 years of employee relations experience required. Service industry experience preferred with large non-exempt population.• Spanish communication skills a plus. • Strategic, analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, energetic, able to quickly adapt in a fast-paced and fast-growing environment. • Professional, resourceful and employee focused. • Knowledgeable in state and federal employment law, and employee relations. • Strong organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook (calendar management), Excel Teams, and PowerPoint. • Demonstrable ability to make decisions quickly, using collaboration and negotiation techniques.• Demonstrable ability to take quick action when reacting to concerns and to proactively plan to prevent future concerns. • Strong ability to multi-task and manage several projects at one time• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor• Occasional travel may be required.
